Fred Chappell: I Am One of You Forever

With and introduction from Ruth Dickey, Executive Director of the National Book Foundation. A viewing of the documentary film by Dr. Michael Frierson, a filmmaker and professor of media studies at UNCG. The movie follows the life and literary accomplishments of Fred Chappell, who is considered one of North Carolina’s most important writers. Chappell taught in UNCG’s creative writing program for more than 40 years and authored a dozen books of verse, two story collections, and eight novels. He was the Poet Laureate of North Carolina from 1997-2002.
