Town of Harrietstown Bike Park

UPDATE: The pump track and jump line was completed in August, 2022! Thank you so much to everyone who helped turn our dream into a reality. It’s now called the Town of Harrietstown Bike Park! - 9/22

SLICK is working hard to bring a gnarly pump track to our town this summer and we'd love your help! Donations will help offset the cost of the project.

A pump track is a continuous dirt loop, made of rollers, berms (banked turns), and jumps. It's designed to be ridden completely by riders "pumping"—generating momentum through up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing.

The Saranac Lake pump track will be located off of Ampersand Ave, near the Elks ball field. It will be approximately 5,400 square feet and will include an entrance trail off the rail trail, as well as an exit trail with skills features that leads to John Munn Road. Want to hit up the pump track from downtown?  Hop on the rail trail heading west, and turn left onto our connector trail before the Lake Colby causeway.  From the high school trails, simply (and safely) cross Ampersand Ave. to access the track.

Our local pump track idea received overwhelming support at our first annual Pisgah Pedalfest last summer. Why? First and foremost, pump tracks are SO much fun to ride! They promote outdoor fitness and build community. They're designed to be ridden by bikers of all abilities. Show up on your BMX or mountain bike and enjoy the ride! Don't have a bike?  If you're a SLCSD student, join the newly established middle or high school mountain bike club and use a school provided bike!

A huge thanks to the Town of Harrietstown for granting us land use approval on February 24, 2022 and to the Saranac Lake Rotary Foundation for their fiscal sponsorship.

Estimated project cost - $30,000
