This year we are celebrating #GivingTuesday side by side with three of our partners. Women-led Rwandan-based NGOs are thriving to change the community in different ways. Join us on our respective social media channels on November 29th, 2022 09 AM. The event will be live on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and LinkedIn, it will be as well saved on all the mentioned channels plus Instagram for those who will not be able to attend the live session. Come and see how powerful joining our hands together can be, learn, and get inspired by the wonderful work all these women are doing across the country.

A brief background and overview of each organization.

Global GAIN as the hosting organization is a nonprofit charitable organization (501 c3) working to build a global network of democracy champions, changemakers, and leaders in public service, politics, peace, and human rights, issue advocacy, the arts, and social entrepreneurship. We aspire to build a leadership network of leaders dedicated to seeing more women in leadership positions globally and to promote women-led organizations that focus on education and leadership. We seek to build meaningful connections across cultures with a special emphasis on lifting up women and young political, civic, and entrepreneurial leaders in the U.S. and globally in developing democracies.

Global GAIN believes that the solutions to the most significant problems in the world will be found when women achieve parity in leadership positions at every level of public and civic life. Inspired by the power of women’s leadership, we are committed to the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. We believe the 5th goal - Gender Equality is the secret to achieving each of the other goals. Global GAIN will develop and support programs that promote women leaders in public life and build meaningful connections with one another through these programs.

Women GAIN Rwanda is a non-governmental organization founded in 2022 by a group of women who completed a twelve months training program learning about the role of women in leadership and what it means to be a leader in the community, as well as the key steps and skills that make a good leader. With the experiences shared, these young women came up with an idea to give back to their community by creating a sustainable women's leadership network. Women GAIN Rwanda work hard to get its efforts noticed by the media and they are so proud when this goal comes to fruition.

WGR has a mission of promoting women and girls' participation in leadership and decision-making processes, and building networks and programs that connect them, to make their contribution and realize their dreams as women and girls on community challenges. Its main vision is to build a women's professional networking space for connecting and sharing experiences.

Impanuro Gils' Initiative (IGI) Impanuro is a Kinyarwanda word that translates as “good advice”. The founder of the organization was determined to address the teenage pregnancy issues as a result of poor or no access to Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information and services among others. Inspired and committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable young girls in her own community, she was also joined by other young women, thus the foundation of Impanuro Girls’ Initiative (IGI).

IGI which is a young women-led Rwandan non-governmental organization has the mission of striving to improve women and girls’ lives through education, capacity building, counseling, socio-economic empowerment, and advocacy to ensure a healthy and dignified lifestyle. Its vision is to have a Rwandan society where women and girls have healthy and dignified lives, are meaningfully engaged in communities, and are economically empowered.

Grown to Help (GTH) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Kigali; registered and operating in accordance with Rwandan law. GTH endeavors for a country in which all children access quality education, and women have influence over decision-making and participate fully and effectively in society’s development. it carries out its activities in various sectors including poverty alleviation, women empowerment, education, Sanitation and Hygiene, Sexual reproductive health, Gender-Based violence eradication, and family welfare.

GTH envisions a community where vulnerable families have improved well-being, and a sustainable economic status; while their children have acquired skills that make them competitive in the labor market. GTH aims to transform the lives of children from vulnerable families and help their parents to develop Self - reliance.

Nyampinga Ushoboye is a non-profit and non-governmental women-led Rwandan organization. Nyampinga Ushoboye believes that access to sexual and reproductive health services enables adolescent women to have their first birth at the time they desire, achieve healthy spacing of later births and have the number of children they want; to receive the pregnancy care they need and have healthy babies; and to have healthy sexual lives, free from HIV and other STIs. We aim to provide these services.

The main focus of Nyampinga Ushoboye is preventing the exploitation of young girls and promoting the well-being of young girls and women. Its vision is to promote the well-being of women between the age of 10 and 35 years old, by supporting them to achieve their dreams and helping them access the health-related services they need as women.

This is just a background, all these amazing women doing fantastic work to brighten our world are joining us on this #GivingTuesday and that's why we named it "Lifting Up Women Tuesday". Come all and support these heart-melting causes.
