About Labor Day Family Camp – Aug. 30-sep. 2, 2024

Labor Day Family Camp is a laid-back farewell as we savor the summer’s end! This camp has less programming than Independence Day Family Camp, but still includes all the great camp activities, speaking, and worship that you love! Spend the weekend in rustic-plush Cascades lodging, or bring your own tent or R.V. Either way, everyone will enjoy Labor Day favorites such as rocket cars, the cardboard boat regatta, and the yummy pancake breakfast.

Speaker | Peter Ahn

Peter Ahn is the founding/lead pastor of Metro Community Church in Englewood, NJ. Today, Metro has grown into a vibrant multi-ethnic church transforming its community and the world. Peter is the President of Metro Community Center, which serves the Englewood people through community service and outreach. Peter has a podcast called Weak Pastor: Looking at the Christian faith through the lens of vulnerability. Peter currently serves as the President of Zimele USA, an organization that confronts the root causes of poverty by removing the barriers to self-sufficiency for women in the impoverished area of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal region. He currently resides in Northern New Jersey with his wife Jenny and three amazing kids: Christina, Kayla, and Christian.

Worship | Peter Gothold

Coming from a long line of pastors and musicians, Peter was sure he didn’t want to be a music minister. God had other plans for him, and Peter has been leading worship for churches and parachurch organizations for over two decades. Currently at Kent Covenant Church in Kent, WA, Peter uses his deep love of God, music, and people to work with his teams with the goal of creating unique, inspiring, and engaging worship experiences through music, art, and any way he can. Peter lives in Kent with his wife of 17 years, Paola, his two sons, PJ and Toby, and a large, evil cat, Ella. When not at church, Peter loves video games, cooking/eating, and disc golf.

Our Family Camp Programs

Every family camp program at Cascades has its own distinct atmosphere and design. Memorial Day Family Camp is the most affordable and least structured so you can experience Cascades at your own pace. Independence Day Family Camp is the biggest event of the summer, packed with exciting activities, fun fellowship, dynamic speakers, and amazing worship. Labor Day Family Camp provides a laid-back program, designed to wrap up the summer with all of your favorite parts of camp and some great worship gatherings.

Dates and pricing

2023 TIERED PRICING MODEL

We say it often, but it deserves to be repeated: we want every individual to have the opportunity to come to Cascades, regardless of their financial situation. This pricing model makes programs at Cascades accessible to families that may not otherwise be able to attend camp. We’re grateful to those who can afford the unsubsidized “true” cost for supporting this effort to broaden our reach as we seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Tier #1 | The unsubsidized “true” cost of camp for families who can afford it.

Tier #2 | A subsidized option (15% off the Tier #1 price) for families who need extra financial assistance to be able to experience Cascades programs.

To apply the Tier #2 option to your registration, use the discount code “tier2fc” for each person you are registering. For families that need additional support, we offer a need-based sponsorship program with an online application process.
