  • Support Volunteers

  • Our support volunteer opportunities work directly with…

    • Day Program and Residential Special Events: Volunteers make our special events and celebrations much brighter for our day program and residential facilities. Individuals and small groups can help decorate for holidays and birthdays, wrap presents for Christmas in July, serve Thanksgiving dinner, and much more!
    • Human Resources Support:  Volunteers can assist in department and administrative support, including updating the current filing system and working with Human Resource materials. Individuals must possess computer skills, be organized, and detail-oriented. Experience in Human Service is a plus but not required.
  • Business Service Volunteers

  • Our business services not only provide jobs for the individuals we serve but also provide funding for all of our support services, Beacon House and Warrior Bridge, our veterans program. Volunteer opportunities are often seasonal.

  • Annual OK5K and 1-Mile Run, Walk and Roll

  • Every year, we host the Eggleston OK5K and 1-Mile Run, Walk and Roll. This is a great event designed to raise awareness and much-needed funds for our mission.  Join us on June 8, 2024 at the beautiful campus of Virginia Wesleyan University.  We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of task before, during, and after the event. Interested individuals or groups can click here for a full list of OK5K volunteer opportunities.

  • Group Projects

  • Large group volunteer opportunities (10-15 individuals) can be arranged for corporations, organizations, civic groups, or military personnel interested in donating time to our mission. Our director of operations will coordinate a special project to accommodate your group so you can make the most out of your time with us. We can also schedule facility tours and/or speakers into your day to further educate your team on our work. We ask that you reach out at least 6 weeks before your desired volunteer date for planning and logistics.

    • United Way Day of Caring: United Way Day of Caring is in September 2024. Small group and virtual volunteer opportunities are available.
  • Do you have any special skills or talents that could help further our mission? We are always looking for new, engaging activities for our clients with disabilities. We also need individuals with specific skill sets to support departments across our organization. Here are a few ways you can donate your skills and talent:

    • Music and Art Therapy: Are you a singer, dancer, poet or have other skills that you could entertain or engage our clients with disabilities?
    • Facility and Administrative Support: We have varying needs that include organization, filing, beautification, and facility maintenance.
    • Committee and Board Membership: We are always seeking community leaders to help guide and lead our organization by serving on our Board of Directors or a committee. Contact our development team at development@egglestonservices.org to learn more.
