Make Connections with STEAM Leaders from Lithuania, Sweden, Ukraine, and United Kingdom

Please join us to network with the U.S. Department of State's premier International Visitor Leadership Program delegates from Lithuania, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. We're excited to partner with the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative to make this a unique experience for our community and our international visitors.

The World Affairs Council has been selected by the U.S. Department of State to host an international delegation. These international delegates have been chosen by their Embassies and the U.S. Department of State to participate in the State Department's premier exchange program, International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). These delegates are participating to learn more about Inclusivity in STEAM in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and the role of non-profits in the area in fostering interest in STEM and how it is used as an economic booster.  They will meet with a variety of leaders to build diplomatic and economic ties to our region.

Here are additional objectives for the international delegation's visit:

  • Examine the evolution and advancement of U.S. women and underrepresented minorities in STEAM;
  • Illustrate policies, organizations, and educational institutions that champion the interests of women and underrepresented minorities in STEAM;
  • Explore mentorship initiatives and professional development opportunities for women and underrepresented minorities in STEAM careers; and
  • Provide networking and interactive opportunities with professional counterparts at scientific and artistic associations, universities, and agencies across the United States.

The delegates participating in this program are mid-level professionals in STEAM fields. We are excited to welcome

  1. Lithuania: Ms. Neda Zutautaite, Executive Director, Knowledge Economy Forum
  2. Sweden: Ms. Anastasiia Klonova, Project Manager, Skills Shift Initiative (Beredskapslyftet)
  3. Ukraine: Dr. Olena Halapchuktaranvska, Associate Professor, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University
