Staff & Board of Directors

ABMRA General Manager - John (JD) DeVivo

I’m 54 years young with 35 years in the ski and outdoor recreation industry. I relocated to Shell from Bethel, Maine. I’m a husband and father of three (2 in college and one in HS), and I’m an avid skier, surfer, pedaler (road & mtn) and paddler (kayak & SUP).

My wife, younger daughter, and 2 dogs stayed back home in Maine so that my daughter could finish out her last 2 years of HS, and my wife is a valued member of the Boyne Resorts team that’s based back East. My two older kids are at school at Western Colorado U and U of Rhode Island.

I came here to AB because I’m enthralled by the mission of saving ski areas and saving affordable skiing. We want to be the model that other 300-500 acre properties can look to when it comes to running with a great crew of 40-60 people and becoming profitable… and plugging heavily into the local community while doing so. I’m here full-time and full-tilt, and I live right here at the AB Lodge.

I left the 207… and 2,300 miles later I’m loving life out here in the 307!

ABMRA Director of Mountain Operations - Ryan Morris

Ryan was born and raised locally in Sheridan County and has been an AB local his entire life. Ryan handles all of our on-mountain operations and logistics, including lift ops and maintenance, patrol ops, facilities maintenance, parking, grounds, and custodial, vehicle maintenance and logistics, grooming, and a host of other outreach programs. Ryan has been with us for three years now as a full-timer, but has been “AB Since the 80’s!”

Ryan built that bench in honor of KOSKI, and you’ll find it at the summit.
