Tania Johns

Principal

Tania Johns founded Pathway Research Studio to provide change management and consulting services for campaigns, government officials, and organizations. Tania is an experienced project manager and focus group moderator.

She most recently served as State Director for Tom Steyer’s presidential campaign, Deputy Campaign Manager for the first African-American mayor of Montgomery, Alabama, and Campaign Manager for the local school levy in Montgomery, which will provide $33 million per year for public education. Tania specializes in building broad cross-sectional coalitions and engaging communities toward common goals.

Tania earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Alabama State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Tania is a fierce loyalist who loves all things politics, family, and Pinterest.

Frustrated about: Educational inequality, environmental injustice, and health care disparities.

Hopeful for: Social equity and the ability of people to change for the better.

Inspired by: Black women in leadership roles, Gen-Z and millennial voters knowing the power belongs to them.
