What We Do

The LSCF helps to support outstanding programs and services for older adults in our community by providing supplemental funding to the Levy Senior Center. The foundation also extends its impact by offering programs and events designed to enrich the lives of older adults in the Evanston area, ensuring they remain active, connected, and engaged.

April 19 & 26: Playful Forms Art Workshop

Join the Playful Forms Art Class on Fridays from 12 to 3:00 pm. Space is limited, so sign up now! In class, we work with plaster and wire, creating and forming 3D sculptural forms inspired from nature, literature, art, myths and our own mind. Adding paints, bleeding tissue paper or objects for finalizing touches.

April 25: Shedd Aquarium and Shaw's Crab House Trip

 Join the trip and explore a variety of fascinating exhibits showcasing marine life from around the world. After, you'll unwind and enjoy some delicious seafood at Shaw’s Crab House. A pre-set menu will be available at the time of service. Outing runs 10:30am-5pm. Learn more & register.

Hoops for Ages Needs Volunteers April 27!

Volunteer a couple of hours keeping time or keeping score at Hoops for the Ages basketball tournament, April 27, 8:45 am to 7:45 pm. Men's teams will play at Robert Crown, and women's teams at the Levy Senior Center. Watch the action and have some fun! Click here to volunteer.

April 22: Free Bilingual Community Yoga

Join Joseph Ortega M.A. at the Levy Center April 22 and 23 for free community yoga sessions in both Spanish and English! The class offerings include gentle sitting yoga, standing yoga, and even guided meditation with breathing and sound bowls. See a full schedule and register here.

April 26: Free Hearing Tests by Northwestern Students

Would you like to get your hearing tested for free? We are organizing another hearing test session by Northwestern Audiology Students on Friday, from 9 am to 11:30 am. To register, please contact the Levy front desk at (847)448-8250. We received a tremendous response last time.

Fridays! Songs by Heart

Sing-along

Come to the Hackberry Room every Friday from 12 to 1:00 pm to enjoy a therapeutic sing-along. Songs by Heart has partnered with the Levy Center to provide a program developed for Memory Care Communities in which a singer leads an interactive sing-along with piano accompaniment.
